Join Network For Progress, a “big tent” and “bottom up” social and media-savvy grassroots organization for the Maintream Majority of Americans who comprise the “Yes We Can” & “Sanity” Movements, as we continue our “First Thursdays” monthly networking mixer series where DC-area Progressives, Democrats and Hope Mongers can congregate to network and socialize to build our community for 2012 and beyond. Activists are also welcome to come and share information about local events, campaigns and advocacy efforts.
Our July event will serve as a kickoff of the new Network For Progress Career Networking Group (formerly GO-DC Career Networking) and include two new sponsors: Prince George’s County Young Democrats and progressive software maker Salsa Labs who have generously donated food and drinks to us!
For “early bird” rsvpers and attendees that will mean some nice perks but at the same time we need to invest in building this organization and making our events “affordable yet sustainable” so this time we will ask for a modest contribution at the door for people who sign up later or just show up at the door.
Now let’s keep up the momentum from last month when we were featured in the Washington Post for our effort to compete with the Conservative “First Fridays” happy hours!

*ABOUT NETWORK FOR PROGRESS
As of February 10, 2011, the fourth anniversary of the Obama For America campaign, Network For Progress will serve as an interactive and creative online/offline political, civic, professional and personally-enriching Community, Advocate & Resource for the lessons of the "Yes We Can" Movement of Hope and Change to expand on the work of Organizing For America with the Mainstream Majority of Americans (including Democrats, Progressives, Independents, Republicans and those in between comprising young people and many other under-served constituencies) that voted for President Obama in 2008.
Network For Progress will promote the use of 21st Century “bottom up” Communication, Outreach & Leadership/Development grassroots-organizing techniques for an honest dialogue to create the necessary Personal Relationships & Viral Buzz to build a Movement that is continually being revolutionized by the growth of Google, Facebook, Twitter, blogs and other networking tools but was under-utilized after Inauguration Day when the social, social media & Media vacuum of public discourse was filled by Tea Party/Fox News’ coordinated activism and only recently has been valiantly promoted by Jon Stewart’s quest for “Sanity.”
Network For Progress will provide a platform for supporters to become OUR own “Obama” who is empowered to bring PROGRESS to our professional and personal lives as well as our town, our state, our nation and our world as we approach 2012 and beyond.
“Network For Hope. Network For Change. Network For PROGRESS.”
